iOS New Releases This Week: Potshot Pirates, Metal Slug + More
A lot of awesome new releases are hitting the App Store this week, including an old school side scroller, a pirate puzzler, a Disney game and more. These games will be available to download just after 11:00 PM Eastern time in the U.S., if they haven't already come out. Let's take a look at the new releases for this week! (Pricing and links will be made available when the games hit the U.S. App Store.)
Bring down the structures and collect the booty by attaching your crew mates to cannonballs and firing them. Fire your actual crew members? Ha! It's a Chillingo title, so it's sure to be a fun and wacky one. We can't wait to check it out.
Maintain and update your football club with the latest version of Football Manager. The new addition of in-app purchasing gives you the option of funding your team with a bigger stadium or a chance to grab new investors. Your goals are only limited by your wallet. Just like in real football.
A musical-based Final Fantasy game? Ok, we're down with that. This 3DS port should fit right in on iOS devices, and the colorful cast of characters will attract both RPG and music fans toward the title. And if you cave in and get all of the in-app purchases, it'll only set you back $150!
Monsters Inc. is be re-released in theaters in 3D, and with the sequel coming next year, Disney wants you to join Mike, Scully and other Monstropolis monsters in a quest to rescue Boo. With three different worlds and 48 levels, this game will get you pumped up for the impending Pixar releases.
A tower defense game that puts you on the defensive and the offensive! Start out laying your towers and turrets just like any other tower defense game, but after a while, you'll have to build up your attacking army as well. Eventually you'll have to control both sides of the war front. Good luck!
No, this isn't Metal Slug 6 or 7 or wherever they're at with the series, this is the original Metal Slug, which surprisingly, wasn't available on the App Store before today. What took them so long? No matter, it's one of the best side-scrolling shooters out there. And you don't need a cool, red cab to play it on.
Wow, where did this beautiful looking space shooter come from? It reminds us of Gyruss and how you rotate the ship the around the screen. If Gyruss were hopped up on coke and exploded in amazing colors every 10 seconds. We can't wait to get our hands on this one.
BRING IT ON!! REMEMBER THOSE AWESOME MONSTER TRUCKS YOU USED TO LOVE AS A KID? NOW YOU CAN PICK FROM OVER 30 OF THEM AND CRUSH EVERYTHING IN YOUR PATH! WHY ARE WE YELLING? BECAUSE WE'RE EXCITED TO PLAY IT, THAT'S WHY!
Man, this place is a zoo. Literally! This fun looking zoo sim will have you feeding and breeding over 180 different animals. You can even combine up to four different species to create a hybrid! We can't wait to breed our very own tigeroostelephantlion!
A 3D augmented reality tower defense game. And that might be the nerdiest thing we've ever written.
Hit the slopes and play as real snowboarders and skiers. If you have a killer run, you can show it off to your friends through Facebook.
Ahoy, matey! Build your own pirate camp, form a crew and beat your enemies! Use your favorite Playmobil toys and participate in lots of different mini-games. Great fun for kiddies.
Two skiing games in one week? Why, not. It is the season after all. In Ski Jump Giants 13 your goal is to wow the crowd with the most awesome jump you can pull off. Feel the wind in your face as you fly through the air! Hear the crowd roar as you prepare to land! Taste your own blood when you wipe out in front of everyone! This is why we play games like this in the comfort of our own home.
Is it just us, or does Pat Sajak's head get bigger every time they come out with a new Wheel of Fortune game?
Touch the notes and feel the music? We have no idea what this music game is trying to tell us but we think it involves a hammock, a margarita and lots of relaxation time.
This colorful platformer looks like it might be fun. The animation is really nice and the game seems to have a fun motif behind it. We'll download this one for sure.
A card game designed by ex-NASA engineers? It's either going to be brilliant or so complex you need to be a rocket scientist to figure it out. Get it? Cause NASA has rocket scie ... oh, nevermind.
Another game where you shoot zombies and upgrade weapons and yawn yawn yawn.
A colorful side-scrolling beat 'em up. Looks nice, but we're wondering if there's anything special in the gameplay to make it stand out from the others.
"The story revolves a 3-year-old little girl who called Tonly, her parents are busy with work and neglect her, for which she was suffering from autism, stay lonely!" Ok, we give up. maybe someone can email us and tell us what this game is about.
