Interplay has releaesd a teaser video to herald its return to the ClayFighter franchise.

According to Shoryuken, Interplay has posted a teaser trailer which officially announces its return to the ClayFighter franchise in video form. Interplay announced this remastered project a few days ago, saying that it would be coming out for PC first. Obviously, a console counterpart for the revamped fighting game would be dependent on the success of its PC version. For those of you hoping to see Boogerman or Earthworm Jim's new look in the teaser, don't hold your breath. The video doesn't really show anything new and just jests at Interplay's history. The teaser does show a modern drawing of Bad Mr. Frosty, who will appear in the game in the outfit that he had in the original. Sorry to all you fans hoping he'd wear the backwards cap that he had in ClayFighter 2: Judgment Clay.

ClayFighter originally debuted 22 years ago and had some awesome parody characters. The series made a farce out of the Mortal Kombat franchise, filling its roster with clay versions of fictional characters, such as Bad Mr. Frosty, Sumo Santa, Boogerman, Hoppy, Earthworm Jim and Blue Suede Goo (wait, Santa is a fictional character!?). Interplay's PC remake will feature 20 characters, so expect a few new faces, as well as 20 different fighting arenas. This suggests there's going to be one stage for each character. ClayFighter will be modernized with counters, air-dashing and double-jumps. Here's to hoping Interplay gets brutal with its Claytality finishing moves. While no specific release date was revealed, Interplay did mention at the end of the trailer that ClayFighter would be coming out in 2016. Now if only Primal Rage could get the same treatment...
