Since its 1999 release, Homeworld has been giving a new name to space adventure and now it's back with a remastered version.

Gearbox Software has undertaken the task of remastering both Homeworld and Homeworld 2, and throwing them into the 21st century. When purchasing the Homeworld Remastered Collection, gamers will be getting Homeworld 1 & 2 Remastered as well as the original versions of both games and free access to the Homeworld Remastered Steam Multiplayer Beta.

“Homeworld is among the greatest strategy games in history, and we’re very proud of the work our team has put into bringing this exceptional series to modern PCs,” said Brian Martel, Chief Creative Officer at Gearbox Software. “We received a lot of great feedback from the passionate Homeworld fan community, and we hope to deliver a game they – and new fans from around the world – can get lost in for countless hours to come.” However, Homeworld isn't the only thing up Gearbox Software's sleeve -- it's also working on Homeworld Shipbreakers, which fans can anticipate as a prequel to the series.

You can be on the lookout for the Homeworld Remastered Collection for PC on its launch day of Feb. 25, but for now you can buy the game as a pre-order and get 15 percent off its original price of $34.99.
