That gun Agent Locke is holding in these new pictures for 'Halo: Nightfall' looks awfully familiar.

Halo Waypoint has revealed some new images featuring Mike Colter as Agent Jameson Locke starring in the upcoming digital series 'Halo: Nightfall.' Some of you might recognize Colter for his roles in 'The Good Wife' and 'Zero Dark Thirty,' but in 'Halo: Nightfall,' he will be playing Agent Locke, a pivotal new character central to the plot of Halo 5: Guardians. Waypoint confirms that Nightfall will be taking place between the events of Halo 4 and Halo 5, leading up to Locke garbed in his recon-style Spartan armor. The series will act as an origin story for the character, so we will know what he is like going into Halo 5.

Directed by Sergio Mimica-Gezzan from 'Battlestar Galactica' and produced by Ridley Scott, Nightfall will debut for Xbox Live subscribers sometime towards the end of 2014, likely coinciding around Halo: The Master Chief Collection's release date of Nov. 11 for Xbox One. We expect a full trailer and a release date for the first episode to be announced during San Diego Comic-Con's Nightfall panel on July 24 hosted by Xbox.
