Guild Wars 2’s Flame & Frost: The Razing is Now Live

The third episode in Guild Wars 2's Flame & Frost series is live and marks the arrival of the Molten Alliance between the dredge and the charr Flame Legion. They're burning up the countryside, so it's up to the game's intrepid players to save the homelands!

From out of the Shiverpeaks stomps this mighty war machine, hellbent on turning the world of Tyria to ash. Thankfully, two heroes named Braham and Rox are willing to do whatever it takes to stop the Molten Alliance. You can join these two in their missions to save trapped norns, and complete an errand in the middle of a war zone.

Players will also have to find dredge surveillance posts littered around the Diessa Plateau and Wayfarer Foothills in order to ensure that the enemy doesn't collect any important intel about the surrounding area.

The Razing update not only continues the story, but it introduces some other changes to the game proper. A new guild mission called "Guild Bounty Target" is now available. As you can imagine, it tasks your guild with hunting down a baddie, though it must be said that they're meant to be difficult targets to catch. But if you can work together with your guild, you'll be able to bring fugitives in and be rewarded in awesome items.

World vs. World has been improved and will now allow you to see more of the action onscreen, with more players than were previously visible. These brouhahas can let players earn World Experience in order to unlock World Ranks! This way, everyone will know how incredibly badass you are.

And as another way to let the world know just how damn cool you are, the new update includes a leaderboard website that keeps track of World vs. World rankings, Player vs. Player rankings, and total achievement points.

It's quite a beefy update, considering the last installment of the Flame & Frost series was released only a month ago. Log into the game and check out what's new, then let us know what you think of The Razing!
