We're all patiently waiting to engage in criminal activities in the gang-filled streets of Los Santos in Grand Theft Auto 5. But did you know that when you roam those streets, you'll be hearing the voices of actual gang members?

According to an article on IGN, Lazlow Jones, producer and voice actor on Grand Theft Auto 5, revealed that they used real gang members as voice actors in the game. Jones revealed this fact on an interview with Nick Digilio on Chicago's WGN radio station.

Jones said, "When we record all these ambient characters that are in the world we go towards authenticity. So in the game, part of the element of the story is that there’s these gangs, these rival gangs.”

He goes on to talk about how there are many different gangs comprised of different ethnic groups in the game and how they didn't want an actor trying to sound like a "hard gang member." The main idea behind getting real gang members was authenticity. In fact, one of the voice actors got out of prison the day before he started recording.

Grand Theft Auto 5 will be released on Sept. 17 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
