The neon twin-stick shooter series is hitting the third dimension sooner than we thought.

Craig Howard, the co-founder of Lucid Games, has revealed the launch trailer and release date of Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions on the PlayStation Blog. It's been about five years since Lucid Games' team members worked on the last Geometry Wars while at the now defunct Bizarre Creations.

While Geometry Wars has been amazing with its neon graphics and its addictive gameplay, Lucid Games has properly decided that it's time for the beloved series to change. Much like Super Mario Galaxy, Dimensions now takes the fundamental mechanics we all know and love and stretches it across a three dimensional globe that is filled with new targets to shoot and projectiles to dodge. Toss in yet another upbeat and addictive soundtrack and you will be able to zone out and reach twin-stick shooting nirvana yet again.

The PS3 and PS4 versions of Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions will have two exclusive stages. One stage features a level that is shaped like a DualShock controller. Pre-ordering the game will get you the Secret Eye level, which has a triangle-shaped grid and an ever-changing inner core that will throw all sorts of variety into your dodging and shooting.

Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions will debut on the PSN for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 on Nov. 25. The Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC versions of the game are expected to launch on Nov. 26.
