With the recent success of Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, Gearbox Software is recruiting studio members to help put together the next big entry of the series.

It's time to load your guns and grab your gear, Vault Hunters, because Gearbox Software is looking to finally move the Borderlands series forward. According to Gematsu, Gearbox Software's "Borderlands: Behind-The-Scenes" panel at PAX South this weekend had some good news and some bad news. The good news is that Gearbox is going to be working on the next Borderlands title. The bad news is that development hasn't started yet.

While Gearbox Software head Randy Pitchford did not specify whether or not this game would be Borderlands 3, he alluded to it strongly on his Twitter, suggesting his company is looking for producers, coders, designers, artists and other developers. You would have thought since 2K Australia handled a vast majority of Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel that Gearbox would've been working on their own entry. As of now, Gearbox has been focusing on Battleborn.

“We are recruiting for next Borderlands,” Pitchford Tweeted. “This is the big one. Industry badass? E-mail me: heyrandy@gearboxsoftware.com.”

Recently, Gearbox Software announced that the two last pieces of Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel's Season Pass DLC include the Lady Hammerlock Pack and a Claptrap-themed adventure. Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel are being bundled together for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on March 24 as Borderlands: The Handsome Collection.
