This real-time strategy spaceship simulator is going from PC to the iOS format at warp speed.

Joystiq reports that FTL: Advanced Edition on the iPad is going to feature everything the original PC edition had. In addition to housing the entire original title, FTL: Advanced will also feature the upcoming expansion that is inbound for PC.

Due to the size of the iPad screen, certain changes had to be made when your ship encounters another. Whereas the original PC version would simply display both ships at the same time next to each other, one will be much smaller on the iPad and you will be able to switch the dominant ship in order to fully inspect both.

FTL: Advanced Edition does not have any launch window except "soon," according to Subset Games. The iPad's Advanced Edition will be available for the same price as its PC counterpart, which is $10.
