Could the original animatronic robots of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza or FredBear's Family Dinner be making a comeback in Five Nights at Freddy's 3? Let's just say, you better have a mask ready.

Scott Cawthon's indie point-and-click survival horror series, Five Nights at Freddy's, is gearing up for its third entry, based on a teaser image posted on its official website. It's been a great year for Cawthon -- he released two of the biggest indie hit titles of the year (and arguably two of the best survival horror games of the year as well) just months apart from one another. In an era where Resident Evil and Dead Space's latest incarnations have been faltering, it's great to see someone breath some fresh air into the survival horror genre. Based on the picture, it looks like you're going to have to be the night guard one more time and defend yourself from the homicidal animatronics of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza.

Since Five Nights at Freddy's was launched in Aug. 2014 and its sequel debuted less than three months later, it looks like we're due for the third entry of the series soon. Make sure you have some battery life saved, just in case.

If you're unsure of when Five Nights at Freddy's 3 could possibly appear on the Freddy Fazbear timeline (and are still in the dark about the series' overarching lore), we suggest checking out this plot explanation of the first two games:
