Just like it planned, EA formally unveiled Battlefield 4 on Wednesday, giving us our first look at the hyped and anticipated sequel.

After teasing Battlefield 4 for a few weeks, DICE and EA finally showed the game off at GDC 2013. Due out this fall, the sequel looks absolutely stunning in the first screenshots. While neither the publisher or developer discussed the next generation possibilities for Battlefield 4, it was announced for PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360.

In addition to showing off the game, EA also pointed out pre-orders were now open. Anyone who reserves the game will get a Premium expansion pack for free, but there will be a digital deluxe version available on Origin that also includes access to the Battlefield 4 beta. There's no hard date yet, but EA has typically released Battlefield in October to get ahead of the Call of Duty launch in November.
