The Final Fantasy spinoffs just keep on coming with this strange mobile game we can only associate with one of our favorite zombie games.

Siliconera reports that the Japanese mobile market is soon to get Final Fantasy: World Wide Words. While Square Enix's flagship RPG series is known for its fair share of strange spin-offs, this one is easily the weirdest one yet. World Wide Words has you typing in words as accurate and as fast as you can in order to control combat. This is very reminiscent of Typing of the Dead, which was a spin-off to House of the Dead 2.

Square Enix will be using Theatrhythm Final Fantasy's doll-like, chibi style of visuals for World Wide Words. Like Theatrhythm, World Wide Words will have a world map for you to explore and battles for you to do featuring all sorts of monsters and characters from throughout the Final Fantasy franchise.

Final Fantasy: World Wide Words launches in Japan on Sept. 16 as a free-to-play title for the Android format, with its iOS counterpart expect to launch shortly after. Stay tuned as we'll provide up-to-date coverage on whether or not this typing game will hit the western mobile markets. They'll likely change the name, because worldwide should be one word.

Hopefully this game has a part where you type "you can't resurrect Aerith."
