Square Enix has confirmed that its handheld, Monster Hunter-esque RPG, Final Fantasy Explorers, is finally getting a release in North America and Europe.

You better throw some Phoenix Downs and Potions into a bag, because Final Fantasy Explorers is coming to the West in early 2016. The role-playing game gurus at Square Enix have announced that the co-op encouraging Final Fantasy Explorers will be getting a worldwide release for the Nintendo 3DS. Explorers brings back the signature job system of previous titles of the franchise, most notably Final Fantasy Tactics, where you're able to take your character and change his or her job according to trademark roles and archetypes of the series. Better yet, you'll be able to play solo or party up with up to three other Explorers to dive into dungeons and start collecting crystals while encountering classic Final Fantasy baddies, including Imps and Bombs.

You'll be able to play as a Knight, Thief, Black Mage, Summoner, White Mage and more as you try to master over 20 jobs, fight monsters and even recruit them into battle. Better yet, Explorers' Trance system will allow you to transform into legendary characters from Final Fantasy history. While everyone is going to want to have dibs on Cloud, I just hope that Terra, Sabin, Setzer and Locke are in there.

Final Fantasy Explorers will launch in North America and Europe on Jan. 26, 2016 for Nintendo 3DS.
