Final Fantasy 14: Heavensward Trailer: Warlords of Hydaelyn

Move over Warlords of Draenor, Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn's newest expansion seeks to redefine Hydaelyn all over again.

Square Enix has posted the first teaser trailer for Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward, the first big expansion to come to A Realm Reborn, Kotaku reports. Heavensward will introduce a new playable race, new classes, a max-level increase and all sorts of new content. While players are still awaiting FFXIV's Shiva-filled 2.4 patch, Dreams of Ice, Square Enix shocked us all by unveiling this new expansion, which is expected to launch in spring 2015. The timeliness of this announcement makes sense -- a significant number of players are leaving A Realm Reborn to return to World of Warcraft for its Warlords of Draenor expansion, and Square Enix wants to keep them in Eorzea as opposed to Azeroth.

Expect new Primals, new dungeons, new raids, airships (which likely includes player-owned and Free Company-owned vessels), new gear, new jobs, new races and a max level of 60 for all jobs and professions.

Expect this MMORPG expansion to launch sometime next spring.
