War never changes, but a mysterious countdown timer on Bethesda's website suggests that war is coming in the form of a new Fallout game.

Bethesda's Fallout-themed countdown timer hints that we're finally going to see the formal announcement of Fallout 4. With Bethesda having its own press conference at E3 2015 (being the only company presenting on the main stage on Sunday, July 14), we're surprised that an official Fallout unveiling is happening before it. You would think that a Fallout 4 trailer would be the best way to close out Bethesda's E3 presentation with a bang. Nevertheless, this all but confirms Fallout 4's development. We just hope that Bethesda isn't pulling a facepalm-worthy, Square Enix-style misdirect similar to what happened with the announcement that Final Fantasy VII was headed to PS4... as a port of the old PC version.

A worst case scenario is that Bethesda is releasing a bundle of Fallout 1-2 or perhaps an HD remaster of Fallout 3. Could we be getting a cinematic Fallout 4 trailer tomorrow and gameplay footage unveiled at E3? We just hope it's not another one of those "announcement of an announcement" trailers that always surface during this time before E3. The countdown clock is set to hit zero at 10:00 AM EST on June 3, and we'll be there to tell the tale. Stay tuned as we'll keep you updated on this new Fallout title and everything else Bethesda has in the works for E3 2015.

We should note that the source code of Bethesda's countdown site contains the following message:
