For the first time in UFC video game history, women will be a part of the game when EA Sports UFC arrives in 2014.

EA and UFC made the announcement via Instagram, where a brief video of current women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey announced she'd be in the game. Later, it was divulged her The Ultimate Fighter competitor and upcoming opponent Miesha Tate would also be included.

"Since we added the Women's Bantamweight division earlier this year, the women have impressed everyone," said Dana White, UFC President, in a statement. "The fights are always exciting, Ronda Rousey is as talented as any champion in the UFC and her rivalry with Miesha Tate is one of the most intense in UFC history. The female division has become a huge part of the UFC and fans will now be able to experience fighting with them in the game."

As one of the most visible fighters in the UFC, it makes a lot of sense to include Rousey and the other bantamweights in the game. While the female side of the UFC's actual roster isn't quite as large as the male side, there should still be plenty of candidates like Cat Zingano (who was originally set to fight Rousey for the belt) and Sheila Gaff.

There's still no official date in sight for EA Sports UFC, but it's already one of our most anticipated games of 2014.
