Ever get your Xbox Live, Origin, or Game Center accounts completely confused? Is it hard to think iOS when you're wrapped up in the PlayStation Network? According to Games Beat, Electronic Arts has created a method for gamers to employ a single identity throughout all platforms!

When a person purchases an EA game, the company will be able to identify that gamer through his or her activities on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Facebook, iPhone, and EA's Origin service. Under appointment gaming, a player can search for friends no matter what platform they are busy with and commence a multiplayer session with them as long as that specific game allows that mode.

"Our strategic vision at EA is to create a single backend system so that we can truly embrace the secular trends in our industry that are creating massive growth for games," said EA Chief Technology Officer Rajat Taneja in his interview with Games Beat. "And we will be able to embrace all of the new business models that come with that."

Taneja added that EA has not only "rebuilt our backend infrasructure on a fundamental level," but also created "the glue" that will connect gamers across platforms.
