Dynasty Warriors 8 Will Bring the Battles to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3

Dynasty Warriors 8 has just been announced today, letting everybody know that they can get their horde-destroying groove on when the game is released this summer on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

The game brings you once more into the epic fight between the Wei, Wu, Shu, and Jin Kingdoms and pits you in a fantastical reimagining of Chinese history. With this eighth iteration in the series' core titles, a new "What if?" scenario has been added, giving us a look at variations in timelines and a peek at alternate paths that history could have taken.

Dynasty Warriors 8 will also feature a Story Mode with multiple endings and new characters, giving players more reasons to hack and slash through crowds of soldiers. And speaking of crowds, the game will pack over 70 playable characters, two of which are newcomers Yue Jin and Li Dian from the Wei Kingdom.

They'll show off their skills in different battlefields with various terrains, since Dynasty Warriors 8's fights will take place on over 40 stages, including planes, wastelands, ravines, castles, and other locales.

The announcement was also accompanied by a set of screenshots that is so large that it rivals many of the armies you fight in the games. You can view this screenshots below to get a feel for the game's new content.

The game will be released on July 16th, 2013, so you won't have to wait very long to hack and slash your way to glory!
