The sequel to Dreamfall: The Longest Journey is living up to its namesake by being split into five separate episodes for PC.

Red Thread Games' Kickstarter page for Dreamfall Chapters: The Longest Journey has announced that the studio has decided to change its business model and release the game in episodic parts after all. Red Thread Games claims that its way off from the original release date it estimated over a year and a half ago and had to look at its schedule and budget to make this decision. This was likely done to help use proceeds from the first few episodes to help develop and produce the others. This means that Dreamfall Chapters' Kickstarter campaign, which landed $1,538,425 of its $850,000 goal, may not have been enough to see the project through to the end. Red Thread claims that the structure, story, gameplay and narrative frame of the story has not changed.

The cyberpunk future Earth, Stark, and its magical alternate reality, Arcadia, will return this fall when Dreamfall Chapters Book One: Reborn gets released on PC. Expect four more episodes released as a part of this highly anticipated sequel.
