If you've been looking to try your hand at Klei Entertainment's rogue-like survival game while on the go, you're finally going to get your chance.

Over on the PlayStation Blog, Klei founder Jamie Chen has officially announced that Don't Starve: Giant Edition for the PlayStation Vita will be coming next week, Sept. 2, at a price tag of $14.99. That price includes the full Don't Starve game plus the Reign of Giants expansion. However, if you already own Don't Starve, you'll be able to download it free of charge.

While the game is Cross-Buy, unfortunately it will not be Cross-Play, as Cheng states, "In order for us to get the game on Vita, we had to rewrite a bunch of backend code to optimize it. Because of this, the save games are not compatible with PS4, so there is no cross play."

For those unfamiliar with what the Reign of Giants expansion brings to Don't Starve, Cheng describes some of the new features, including new playable characters, an extra save slot, and giants to contend with because Giants "in the name, for crying out loud!"

We're looking forward to jumping back into the world of Don't Starve with some new challenges and perks, as it's a lot of fun to try and survive in that harsh world. Being able to do so wherever we go is even better, so be sure to pick up Don't Starve: Giant Edition for Vita on Sept. 2 if you want to see what all the fuss is about.
