If you've ever played a Battlefield game, you'd know how important it is to know your kit and to have synergy between different kits. To give you a bit of a heads up, DICE has outlined the details for Battlefield 4's kits.

According to Core Gameplay Designer Alan Kertz on the Battlefield Blog, the kits will have a wider range of combat roles and sub-roles, meaning that there's a lot more to do with each kit.

An example he gave was that the Engineer now has access to different anti-vehicle weapons, which is good, considering how many different types of vehicles will be in Battlefield 4. The amount of high damage weapons, like the RPG-7V2, and fire-and-forget smart weapons with lower damage, like the MBT LAW, have been revamped. This should give the Engineer more flexibility on the field.

The Support kit will keep its C4 and Claymores, but will also get a beefed up offfensive options, like the XM25 for suppression. Support will also be getting a redesigned remote mortar and will be able to use carbines and DMRs, which should give them more options for offensive play.

Recon will have more mobility while retaining some of the awesome gadgets that it could utilize in Battlefield 3, like the MAV, T-UGS and the Radio Beacon. New sniping mechanics will help traditional snipers play better and the addition of C4, motion sensors and their access to carbines should help out their short game.

The Assault kit was popular for being able to heal others and it continues in this role in Battlefield 4. New gadgets for this kit include the First Aid Pack, which will heal a single soldier over time, and 40mm Flash Bang rounds that blind and stun enemies.

What do you think of these changes to the kits? Do you welcome them or wish they were tweaked a little differently? Let us know in the comments. Battlefield 4 will be released on Oct. 29 for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, with the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions to follow later in the year.
