Bungie's Destiny may still not have a release date, but we may have just learned when to expect the beta for the upcoming sci-fi shooter.

According to Amazon, Bungie's Destiny will have an open beta sometime in early 2014. Entry is offered to anyone who pre-orders the upcoming shooter through the online retailer. The beta will be available across all platforms, so you'll be able to play on the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Beta invites won't be sent out until after Oct. 3, but access won't be granted until it officially begins some time next year.

Multiplayer is a huge component for Destiny, so it makes complete sense to offer a beta for a game as anticipated as Bungie's first non-Halo work. Gamestop and Best Buy will be offering beta access as well. While you wait, you can check out the latest trailer for Destiny, which offers our first look at the moon.
