Deadly Premonition: The Director's Cut is headed for the Playstation 3 and PlayStation Network on April 30th. Gamers who reserve the title from such participating retailers as GameStop and Amazon.com will receive downloadable content for the suspense game.

For players not familiar with the original game, the storyline centers on Francis York Morgan, a special agent who travels to a small town named Greenvale to investigate a young girl's murder. Life in a small town is not a halcyon experience for Morgan, as supernatural creatures and a killer threaten his safety and sanity.

Features for the director's cut version includes a new story scenario from game director Hidetaka "Swery" Suehiro, a reworked control system, downloadable content, and HD graphics that should give players a more visually exciting look into this open world adventure.

The chance to mingle with locals and perform numerous side quests that unlock the town's secrets give this game added narrative breadth. The comparisons to Twin Peaks are inevitable, but hopefully the added scenario and extra content will up the game's eerie factor. As long as it's not a by the numbers procedural, we're all in for this director's cut.
