The Xbox One launch in Germany will be minus one major title, as the ratings board has denied Dead Rising 3 a rating.

Dead Rising 3 is one of the few console exclusives launching on the Xbox One, but not every market will be getting the sequel. As it turns out, the German ratings board has not approved Dead Rising 3 for sale next month.

"Dead Rising 3 will not be released in Germany as part of the Xbox One launch line-up on Nov. 22 having been unable to attain an age-rating upon review by BPjM (Bundeprüfstelle für jugendgefährende Medien), the country’s entertainment software self-regulation body," a Microsoft said in a statement to Destructoid.

"While Microsoft is disappointed with this decision, we respect the views of the review panel and have withdrawn Dead Rising 3 from Germany’s Xbox One launch line-up. Dead Rising 3 will still be available in all other launch markets on Nov. 22.”

There's still a chance Dead Rising 3 could see release in Germany with some tweaking. This isn't the first time a game has been denied for release overseas, though it's typically something we hear about Australia. We'll be keeping a close eye on further developments, but at least we can take some solace in knowing we'll be able to play Dead Rising 3 here in the States when the Xbox One arrives.
