It's time to saddle up once again as one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse in Darksiders II: Deathinitive Edition, coming to PS4 and Xbox One.

The latest last-gen game to get a current-gen makeover and re-release is going to be Darksiders II, as the cover art for its Deathinitive Edition has been released, Destructoid reports. While we prefer the first game over the sequel, it's still going to be fun to play as Death once again. Unfortunately, Nordic Games hasn't really made any official statements in regards to a release date, but we do know that the game will be hitting the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

Darksiders I-II are Zelda-inspired action-adventure games where you control one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. In the first game, you played as War . In the ongoing battle between Heaven and Hell, a mediating group called the Charred Council would uphold order between the two, utilizing the Four Horsemen to maintain the peace and equality between the two. During the first game, War arrives on Earth to find Heaven's forces fighting Hell's legions. War was surprised to see that his fellow Horsemen never arrived to try and reinstate the peace and protect humanity, who are seen as a third-party between Heaven and Hell. The game eventually ends with the Seventh Seal breaking. War regains his lost apocalyptic powers to find that he must fight both Heaven and Hell's armies. It then ends with three riders in the distance heading towards War to help him fight everything. Darksiders II takes place during the events of the first game, where you control Death, who must go on his own adventure which ultimately helps his brother (War).

We have a feeling we'll get an official trailer and hopefully a release date or launch window for Darksiders II: Deathinitive Edition at E3 next month.
