For those of you who are prepared to die once again, IGN released 12 minutes of in game footage from the upcoming Dark Souls 2. It looks like you're going to die. A lot.

The original Dark Souls is a phenomenal game that seamlessly blends together the ethos of old school fantasy games with current gen graphics. It was hard, merciless, and, if you liked it, nothing could ever come close. Since the announcement of Dark Souls 2, fans have been tittering and foaming at the mouth for any sign of the game's completed form. Well, over at IGN, they have 12 minutes of gameplay footage from the title.

From the looks of it, Dark Souls 2 features a new healing remedy as well as some updated graphics. Dark Souls wasn't a bad looking game by all means, but this new one looks absolutely spectacular. Minute details have gone into making the world of Dark Souls 2 as believable as possible. You'll now be able to use torches to light your way through the darkest reaches in order to hunt down some monsters. Of course, they also featured tons of new ways for your character to meet a frustrating and untimely demise. Our personal favorite was the thrown axe to the head. It just has that surprise factor.

While there is no release date set for the game, we'd be willing to guess that it will be out sometime this year. Most likely around the Fall. We'll have our caskets ready. For now, you can also check out the Dark Souls 2 trailer below.
