The argument over whether graphics are the end all, be all of video games has been raging for a long time now. CEO of Crytek weighs in with his opinions on video game graphics and immersion.

In a recent inerview with Xbox 360 Magazine, Cevat Yerli made some pretty opinionated statements about the importance of graphics. He said, "People say that graphics don't matter. But play Crysis and tell me they don't matter. It's always been about graphics driving gameplay."

Coming from a man whose company pushes the graphical boundary of gaming consistently, this statement isn't surprising. But perhaps other developers and gamers would beg to differ.

Yerli also said that "paired with the art direction, making things look spectacular and stylistic is 60 percent of the game."
