Originally presented at the 2012 Game Developers Conference last March as After Earth, LambdaMu Games has re-titled their project. Now known as Pixel People, this ambitious simulation game is slated to hit iOS devices sometime at the end of this month.

In the game, you must put the world back together after a catastrophic event decimates the foundations of civilization. This means we must not only rebuild and manage cities, but also put together humanity. Starting out, you will only be able to work with two human gene samples, which will pose a little bit of a challenge.

We think it's interesting that this city building game will focus less on the tried and true gameplay elements like harvesting and producing structures, and more on tweaking the internal fundamentals of a city's populace. Hopefully, the title change doesn't mean that the game will be stripped of any of this post-apocalypticness. We like the contrast of the simple pixel art with the serious business of dealing with a wasteland.
