At its Digital Days event, Ubisoft debuted an upcoming role-playing game from the team at Ubisoft Montreal and the director of Far Cry 3. The game in question is called Child of Light and it puts you in the shoes of a young girl named Aurora.

The trailer above has an ethereal quality about it just evokes a sense of peace and tranquility, doesn't it? As Aurora, you'll step into the magical painted world of Lemuria to rescue the sun, moon and the stars that have been spirited away by the Queen of Night. Aurora herself has been taken from her home, so her only hope to get back is to complete her quest.

She'll be accompanied by a small firefly named Igniculus, which is very reminiscent of The Legend of Zelda's Navi, and Aurora will even be able to take up a legendary sword to aid in her quest.

Patrick Plourde, Creative Director at Ubisoft, said, "We want Child of Light to be like a playable poem, a love letter to art and video games." Considering Child of Light's platforming mechanics and Japanese role-playing game-like turn based battles, that statement is looking to be very true.

Watch the trailer above and look out for Child of Light in 2014 on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
