CineFix’s newest 8-bit video takes on one of the highest-grossing and most popular movies of all-time, Marvel’s 'The Avengers'.

The 8-bit version of 2012’s Marvel spectacular hits all the major notes and presents a fictional game that we’d all want to play. Wisely eschewing the movie’s somewhat uneventful first sequence, the homage movie starts off with Captain America’s battle with Loki in Germany, then jumps to Thor’s battle with Iron Man in the woods. Once Captain America breaks up the fight, we see a Mega Man-inspired sequence where Cap and Iron man save the damaged Helicarrier and Black Widow runs for her life from a rampaging Hulk before kicking the brainwashing out of Hawkeye.

Thor then briefly fights Hulk before being trapped by Loki, who unceremoniously murders Agent Phil Coulson. A message from Nick Fury announces that it’s time to defend Earth from Chitauri invaders, and we see all six Avengers team up to defeat their foes. Finally, Iron Man carries an incoming missile into the invaders’ portal, destroying the mothership and ending the threat. The credits roll, showing an 8-bit version of Thanos. Sadly, there is no shawarma.

While the story doesn’t make much sense and the game would be unplayable due to constantly switching main characters, it’s still a very cool video that captures the spirit of the Avengers movie and stirs feelings of nostalgia for the games of the 1980s. With movies like 'Donnie Darko', 'Mean Girls', 'Forrest Gump' and 'Kill Bill' already in their library of 8-bit homages, we can’t wait to see what CineFix  brings us next.

Think the Avengers are tough? They've got nothing on the Five Most Ripped Dudes in Video Games.
