Cave Story Creator Unveils Newest Game — Gero Blaster

Daisuke Amaya, the creator of Cave Story, is working on a new project for iOS -- a retro-inspired game called Gero Blaster that features a frog named Kaeru that's on a quest to save his girlfriend, who's a cat. We'll admit, this already sounds delightful.

Much like in the wonderfully detailed Cave Story, there will be plenty of run-and-gun action, big weapons, great boss fights and blinking pixels. As noted in the description of YouTube trailer embedded below, Gero Blaster is currently targeted for release sometime in May for the iPhone.
