The Call of Duty franchise is going back to the future, and we'll get to play it first with the Black Ops 3 multiplayer beta this month.

Treyarch and Activision have released a new trailer heralding Call of Duty: Black Ops 3's multiplayer beta this month for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players. In order to gain access to the multiplayer beta, you simply have to pre-order Call of Duty: Black Ops 3. Treyarch has all kinds of maps, modes and Specialists en route for the beta, and this trailer gives us a sneak peek at it all.

Since Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare had its DLC and beta open for Xbox users first, Sony has called dibs on Black Ops 3's digital content. This means that PlayStation 4 owners will have access to the multiplayer beta before Xbox One and PC players will. PlayStation 4 gamers can play the beta from Aug. 19 to Aug. 23, whereas Xbox One and PC players will be able to play the game from Aug. 26 to Aug. 30. There are going to be at least three different maps and eight Specialists you can play as heading into this beta, and things are looking quite fun. Expect orbital missile strikes, futuristic weapons, militarized drones, cloaking, special attacks and more.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will be launching on Nov. 6 for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
