We finally know when we'll be able to go back to the future and try out Call of Duty: Black Ops 3's multiplayer beta.

Activision and Treyarch have announced when the multiplayer beta for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will launch. Previously, the Xbox One had priority access to Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare's digital content. This time around, PlayStation users get the preemptive access, starting with the beta. This online multiplayer beta will showcase all the futuristic technology Treyarch is throwing into Black Ops 3. While Advanced Warfare also took place in the future, this title is going to be significantly different when it comes to its bullet-filled gunplay.

Here's what Activision had to say about the multiplayer beta:

Hot on the heels of the reveal of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3’s new Zombies experience at San Diego Comic-Con, we’re now turning our focus to the launch of the multiplayer beta next month. For the first time since Call of Duty: World at War, Treyarch is giving fans all over the globe an opportunity to get their hands on Black Ops 3 multiplayer, months ahead of its release on November 6.

The beta kicks off in early access for PlayStation 4 owners on Wednesday, August 19 and will continue through Sunday, August 23. On Wednesday, August 26 the beta will be available on Xbox One and PC and run through Sunday, August 30. During the beta, fans will have an opportunity to try the new momentum-based, chained movement system, find the perfect Specialist to fit their play style, get a feel for the new multiplayer maps, and more.

In the weeks ahead, Treyarch will share more details about the beta’s launch, the included maps and modes, and more, so keep an eye out for details. The multiplayer beta is available to anyone who pre-orders Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 on PS4, Xbox One, or PC from a participating retailer, as well as the PlayStation Store, Xbox Live Store, and Steam.

There you have it, folks. PlayStation 4's Black Ops 3 beta will run August 19 through August 23. The PC and Xbox One's betas will both run from August 26 to August 30. Unfortunately, there is no word on whether or not a last-gen version of the beta is happening.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will launch on Nov. 6 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Xbox 360 and PS3 versions are in development, but no release dates have been revealed for them yet. Activision recently confirmed the Juggernog Edition of the game as well, which includes a working mini-refrigerator.
