A new multiplayer map for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare has been detailed, and what starts as a trip to paradise soon becomes an explosive match for everyone involved.

The map is called "Recovery" and it takes place at a volcanic observatory center on the Hawaiian islands, with many roofs and paths to take control of during a match. It seems pretty standard for a Call of Duty map... until the clock reaches the halfway point and the volcano starts to erupt. This shoots volcanic gas and rock onto the map, and red arrows appear on the walls telling players to move to the other half of the map before the hangar door closes and the volcanic gas kills whoever is left. The second half of the map is also standard by CoD guidelines but features a fantastic view of a Hawaiian city below.

This map is but one example of why we're particularly interested in Advanced Warfare. A brand new studio at the helm means new ideas for the franchise, and putting an erupting volcano smack in the middle of a multiplayer match is a really neat idea. The mad dash to safety will create some interesting "run or shoot" moments that will make fighting on this map pretty crazy, and we're excited to try it out.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare launches Nov. 4 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.
