The new Destiny update is taking a close look at its Exotics and the Vault of Glass ahead of the big expansion release next week.

In Bungie's most recent update, it has tweaked some of its Exotics as well as some activities, vendors, and fixed up some technical issues. In terms of Exotics, the big update is they will no longer require Ascendant Materials to upgrade. Instead, each Exotic will require an Exotic Shard to upgrade which can either be acquired by breaking down old Exotics or be purchased for seven Strange Coins from Xur. Exotics will now also have a lower upgrade range to compensate for their higher base attack value. Thorn, Bad Juju, Hard Light, Suros Regime, Monte Carlo, MIDA Multi-Tool, Hawkmoon, Red Death, Plan C, Pocket Infinity, Vex Mythoclast, Invective, Ice Breaker, Patience and Time, Super Good Advice and Truth have all been updated which is reflected in Bungie's patch notes.

Also in this patch, Bungie has fixed a few issues with the Raid--specifically where Atheon was not successfully sending 3 players through the time gates and an exploit where the Templar could be forced off its platform.

You can check out the rest of the changes at the link above, or just wait for the update to arrive this week and see it all for yourself in-game.
