Those worrying that the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of Destiny were going to get specific bonuses for playing on next-gen systems can relax.

According to CVG, Bungie's chief operating office Pete Parsons has stepped forward saying that the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of Destiny will still offer all of the same features that the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 will have. Parsons clarified these differences by saying that Destiny will obviously look better on the Xbox One and PS4 versions when compared to their last-gen brethren, but all of the features in Destiny's gameplay will be universal, regardless of system.

"Hopefully players will be pleasantly surprised by how appealing it is on [last generation hardware]", Parsons said. "It's the same game, that was hugely important to us. Part of some of the really big, ambitious technologies set up for this, all of this lives on one set of servers. There's one world that we're building, and that is extended out to multiple platforms."

Destiny is due for a Sept. 9 release for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Destiny's beta test will be starting next month first on PlayStation consoles, eventually opening to Xbox users shortly after. Players can get access to Destiny's beta by pre-ordering it online or at participating retail stores.

We'll have more on Destiny from E3 next week.
