Where have all the great JRPGs gone? To handheld platforms of course! The recent Nintendo Direct showcase revealed that Bravely Default: Flying Fairy, the absolutely beautiful JRPG title from Square-Enix, will be coming to America. We will be seeing the title, which originally released in Japan in 2012, hitting our shores in 2014. The title will also be coming to European stores sometime later this year.

Bravely Default: Flying Fairy is something of a spiritual successor to Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light. It’s a simple RPG with a deep job system and a massive world. In addition, it also includes augmented reality gameplay that makes use of the 3DS’s 3D camera.

A series of new screenshots and a trailer were released for the game courtesy of Square-Enix recently. You can check them out below. They give you a decent look at the game’s world, battle system, job system, and more.
