The newest episode of The Making of Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel has launched, and this time the topic is who we'll be controlling when we take the helm in mid-October.

All four of the game's playable characters, Nisha the Lawbringer, Athena the Gladiator, Wilhelm the Enforcer and Claptrap the Fragtrap, are profiled in the video, with developers explaining why these four were chosen and what each one of them brings to the table.

Wilhelm slowly becomes more cybernetic as you build his skill tree, buffing his attack and making his support drone skill more potent. Nisha is a total Wild West gunslinger with an ability that should make every enemy run for cover. Athena is channeling both Captain America with her throwable shield and Zer0 from Borderlands 2 with her sword. Finally Claptrap is... well, he's Claptrap, which makes him unpredictable and unique in every playthrough.

We're wondering how this new cast of characters will compare to the Vault Hunters we've become so familiar with in Borderlands 2. We see flashes of our past friends in this four new characters, but we won't be able to know for sure until we play the game. Hopefully the transition will be seamless, because the sooner we can start shooting like crazy again, the better.

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel launches Oct. 14 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.
