Borderlands 2’s New Game Mode, Playable Class, and More!

A whole mess of Borderlands 2 news has just surfaced, giving Vault Hunters everywhere more reasons to keep shooting and looting.

According to some posts on Kotaku, Gearbox's PAX East panel revealed a lot of goodies regarding Borderlands 2 and the crazy amount of content coming down the chute.

The first bit of news is that the level cap will be raised from 50 to 61 starting April 2nd, 2013. For $5.00, you can get access to the downloadable content and level up your character some more! This pack will also come with the Pearlescent weapon type, putting another carrot in front of loot-crazed players.

Also due out on April 2nd, 2013 is an update that gives the game a new mode called Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode. This mode is supposed to scale the difficulty even higher for you vets and keep you playing. Unlike the level cap DLC, this update will be free!

The newest Vault Hunter was also revealed at the panel, introducing us all to Krieg, the Psycho Bandit. There's some teaser footage of this new character down below, so check out this Buzz Axe-wielding melee fighter who will be available for $10 around May 2013.

And finally, there's a new loot chest that will be for sale on Think Geek and ShopGearbox.com for $99.99. Only 5,000 of these babies will be available and will come packed with in-game items, a Goliath mask, a Shift code, art, and posters. It's a piece of the game that any Borderlands nut will want to own!
