Borderlands 2 Vita Edition Has Two Player Co-Op Cap, Cross Save Data and DLC Packs IncludedJon Ledford |
Be ready to use the gyroscope and touchscreen capabilities of the PS Vita as this handheld version of Borderlands 2 is chock-full of other exclusive features.
A recent post on the PlayStation Blog has let us in on many of the details and features being crammed into the portable, PS Vita version of Borderlands 2. You are able to configure and customize the Vita's controls however you see fit. You can map any action to the front buttons and even assign specific skills/moves to particular areas of the handheld's touchscreen and rear touch pad. When aiming down a gun's sights, the Vita's gyroscope will help finely tune your aim.
Luckily, the PS Vita version of Borderlands 2 will include the downloadable content characters of Krieg the Psycho and Gaige the Mechromancer. It will also include the DLC campaigns of Mr. Torgue's Campaign of Carnage, Captain Scarlett and her Pirate's Booty, the Collector's Edition Pack and the Vault Hunter Upgrade pack.
You will also be able to exchange your save data from the PS3 version of the game over to your PS Vita so you can switch on-the-fly between playing on a big screen or a handheld while continuing the same save.
While Borderlands 2's Vita version seems like its a perfect representation of the current-gen title, its multiplayer took a harsh hit. Instead of being able to maintain the series' classic, four-player online co-op, PS Vita owners will only be able to play co-op in groups of two. Nevertheless, be ready to take the fight to Handsome Jack when Borderlands 2 launches on the PS Vita on May 6.
