Blizzard has trademarked something called "Warlords of Draenor," which may or may not point to a new World of Warcraft expansion.

According to VG247, MMO Champion found a trademark filing that reveals that Blizzard has applied to register Warlords of Draenor. Earlier in October, the domain name warlordsofdraenor.com was also registered on GoDaddy. These signs might indicate that Blizzard may be set to unveil a new expansion to World of Warcraft, their massively multiplayer online roleplaying game.

The most recent expansion to World of Warcraft, Mists of Pandaria, was announced on Oct. 21, 2011 and released on Sept. 25, 2012. Cataclysm, the expansion before that, was announced on Aug. 21, 2009 and released on Dec. 7, 2010. Judging by the rate of announcements and release dates, chances are good that Warlords of Draenor could be the next World of Warcraft expansion that will be announced at BlizzCon 2013, which runs this year from Nov. 8-9.

Draenor, for the uninitiated, was the original homeworld of the orcs and was where the Draenei called home before they crashed down to Azeroth. We'll keep you updated as more information about Warlords of Draenor is revealed.
