Fans of the BlazBlue series will be glad to hear we're getting another prequel to it in the form of XBlaze Lost: Memories.

Just as Persona 4 Arena Ultimax proved to be a solid fighting game spin-off originating from a famous RPG franchise, XBlaze Lost: Memories intends to do the same for the BlazBlue series. Destructoid reports that Aksys Games has announced XBlaze Lost: Memories will be getting a Western release this summer. BlazBlue, which is considered to be the spiritual (and more magical) successor to the Guilty Gear series, has its own legion of loyal fans, and we're glad to see its lore expanding with another XBlaze title. Lost: Memories is an RPG-esque visual novel sequel to XBlaze Code: Embryo, which made its North American debut in 2014. There will be more puzzle elements and a bigger focus on dungeon gameplay this time around.

Here's what Aksys Games had to say about XBlaze Code: Memories:

Play as the enigmatic pink-haired protagonist as she navigates through a weird and wondrous alternate reality with the help of the mysterious Nobody in order to save her sister, who disappeared into this unknown world! While there she is tasked with finding "Memory Fragments", crystallized memories that not only serve as keys that will help her move on and find her sister, but also uncover the identity and story of the person those memories belong to!

XBlaze Lost: Memories is expected to launch in summer 2015 for PlayStation 3 and PS Vita.
