Rod Fergusson, one of the producers behind the Gears of War series and the Executive Vice President of Development behind Bioshock Infinite is gearing up to leave Irrational Games. But why leave after such a huge success?

Fergusson spent the past nine months getting Bioshock Infinite into peak shape form. He joined the team last August to help Ken Levine tighten and close up development on the latest Bioshock game. But now that the project is finally finished, he has decided to move along to the next company and set of challenges.

Although he may be leaving Irrational, it won't be the last we've heard from Rod. In a recent email to Polygon, he talked about his reasoning for joining Ken Levine and why it is time to move on.

He said, "I've been striving for better storytelling in the games I've worked on and I saw this as a great opportunity to learn from Ken and his team on how to build a truly story-driven game."

This is great news that someone who has worked on two highly successful titles is still willing to grow, learn, and challenge himself. We're looking forward to seeing what Rod Fergusson has in store for us next. Best of luck on the job search, but with a resume with packed with Gears of War and Bioshock Infinite, we're sure a company will eagerly snap him up. Who knows, maybe he'll make a nickname for himself bouncing around from company to company as "The Closer." That has a nice ring to it.
