Vector graphics games are certainly a niche genre for gaming fans. You're either into them or you're not. And if you're not into them, then you're probably someone who hates things like air and grilled cheese sandwiches. For those of you who do love them, let's take a look at the 10 best vector games you can play in the App Store.

    ElectroTrains

    Robin Edwards

Choo choo! These trains kept rollin' all night long in this colorful vector based train game where you have to flip the switches and get the right colored trains to drop off their passengers at the right colored train stations. It's a lot tougher than it sounds.

    Current

    Tinkerhouse Inc.

Fans of Bust-A-Move type games will enjoy this vector game that plays like your favorite bubble burster, if your favorite bubble burster was filled with trippy music and colorful vector based graphics! Let Current suck you in with its simple gameplay and keep you there with its addicting gameplay.

    Hard Lines

    Spilt Milk Studios Ltd

Hard to think about vector graphics without thinking about lightcycles and Tron. Hard Lines lets you go up against the competition in a surprisingly witty grid-based lightcycle game. The comments as you play will have you laughing. The difficulty in trying to wall your opponents into oblivion will have you crying.

    Luxor Evolved HD

    Mumbo Jumbo

If you enjoy games like Zuma then you'll enjoy Luxor Evolved HD, a Zuma-like game that bursts with color as you blast the balls scattered along a giant chain. Can you prevent them from reaching their destination? It's OK if you can't. At least you got to watch a vector-based fireworks show while you tried.

    Spirit

    Marco Mazzoli

A fun retro vector gaming experience from this hot indie developer will have you hooked for hours with its smooth dual stick controls, trippy soundtrack and intense gameplay. Lots of different stages and ways to play will keep you from being bored. It's a great grab for only a buck.

    Space Junk

    Upside Down Games Ltd

It's like Asteroids, except you're playing the cleanup crew trying to get rid of a bunch of space junk floating around in outer space. And if avoiding the little pieces of junk floating around wasn't enough, UFOs are also thrown into the mix. Hope your old school reflexes are sharp because you're gonna need 'em.

    PewPew 2

    Jean-Francois Geyelin

If you dig games like Geometry Wars then you'll dig a vector game like PewPew 2. It's not as crazy as Geometry Wars, but PewPew 2 has enough game modes (8 to be exact) and the same crazy dual-stick style gameplay. Only difference is a controller is a lot cheaper to replace if you throw it across a room.

    geoDefense

    David Whatley

geoDefense was a big hit when it first came out and it still holds up to this day. Not only is it a cool vector game, it's also a cool tower defense game. Set up your gun turrets and other weapons and stop the creeps from reaching their destination. It's challenging and it's fun. Shame there isn't a version for the new iPad though.

    Kid Vector

    Uncade LLC

This is a surprisingly good platformer that just happens to also be a vector game! Like the other games on this best vector list, only certain fans of vector graphics are going to enjoy it, which is a shame because the controls are great and it's a lot of fun to play. Don't be fooled by its simplistic look, Kid Vector has a lot to offer platforming fans.

    geoDefense Swarm

    Critical Thought Games LLC

geoDefense Swarm takes the tower defense platform of geoDefense and turns it into more of a Fieldrunners experience. Instead of placing your weapons along a track, you place them on a giant honeycomb and force the creeps to take the longest path possible before trying to reach their destination. When the screen is filled with weapons and enemies, get ready for a fireworks show you haven't seen since the 4th of July. geoDefense Swarm earns the #1 spot in our 10 best vector games list.
