EA and DICE have finally given the multiplayer beta for Battlefield 4 an official start date next month.

Kicking off on Oct. 1, the Battlefield 4 beta will be available on the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. If you held onto your copy of Medal of Honor: Warfighter or were a Battlefield 3 Premium subscriber, you'll be granted access for free. You can also get in on the action by pre-ordering the deluxe digital edition of Battlefield 4 on Origin.

Participating in the beta gives you a chance to not only play Battlefield 4 early, but you'll also be able to learn maps, unlock items and build stats, which will transfer to your account once Battlefield 4 actually arrives on Oct. 29. Don't forget, even if you take part on the the current generation version, your stats and such will carry over to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One when those versions arrive in November.
