Arcade Spotlight: 1984 Arcade in Springfield, MO

I love writing the Arcade Sushi Arcade Spotlight articles because I'm beginning to have faith that the arcade is starting to make a comeback! More and more little arcades are popping up everywhere and places like 1984 Arcade in Springfield, MO. make me want to take a road trip and check them out! Now someone tell my boss I'm not going to be around for a while...

1984 Arcade isn't a fancy Dave & Busters ticket redemption gaming nightmare. Nope. This place is all about the old school days of gaming. Days when you put your quarter up on the machine and had to go toe-to-toe with the punk kid who always picked Ryu in Street Fighter. Days when your parents would drop you off for hours and leave to go do errands. Days when your name on the high score leaderboard meant you were the man. Those days live on in this awesome arcade!

1984 Arcade has over 60 classic arcade games and pins. And they don't use tokens or quarters either. Pay $5 at the door and play as much as you want as long as you want. The only time you'll really need quarters are for the pinball machines, which cost .25 or .50 cents to play.

They have classics like Donkey Kong, Galaga, Frogger, Q*Bert, Tempest, Joust, Defender and more. If classic arcade games are your crack, then this place is your drug dealer. They also have a nice selection of pins, with seven machines always on the floor while two more get shopped.
