Heads up, MechWarriors! Ubisoft is bringing Carbon Games' MOBA-like, real-time strategy game, AirMech Arena, to current-gen consoles.

Polygon reports that AirMech Arena places the player into some pretty dangerous transforming weapons — think Gundam, but without the J-pop intros. These weapons are dubbed "AirMechs" and they're out to protect their bases while simultaneously trying to take over their enemies' fortresses. There are nine AirMechs available that players will be able to collect and fight with. Each AirMech will be different and has its own strengths and weaknesses. You will need to find the right AirMech in order to defend your base to the best of your playing abilities. These robots have the ability to transform from a land-based mech to an air-based mech in order to protect their base even more efficiently. As you level up your mech and it gains experience, you will earn in-game currency that can unlock upgrades, new units and pilots as well as exclusive skins and effects to customize your appearance.

There are different modes of playing including a solo campaign and online games where you can play 1v1 or 3v3. There will be the option to play against other players or AI as well. Plus, the entire game is free-to-play with 12 different unlockable pilots and over 80 different units. You can expect AirMech Arena to come out for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One sometime this spring. Better yet, the entire game will be free-to-play.
