The full blown PC launch of DayZ has been eagerly anticipated by fans of the mod worldwide. However, it looks as if the game will be expanding far beyond its original PC roots onto consoles.

Dean Hall, creator of the game, said in an interview with The Escapist that a console port of the game would be coming as long as he doesn’t completely screw up the PC release. Hall has already begun talks with Sony, who seems very interested in bringing a PlayStation port of the game to the PSN.

“I know a lot of people get really hot and bothered about it. Like, I'm not a console gamer, I'm a PC gamer, but I don't think it necessarily has to hurt things.” Hall said, reassuring gamers that a console port wouldn’t affect the game’s quality.

Dean Hall and the DayZ development team currently work for Bohemia Interactive, the studio that originally developed ArmA, the game that DayZ was modded from. It’s no secret that DayZ is currently far more popular than ArmA or ArmA II ever was.
