The Playstation Blog has posted a new trailer for Far Cry 4 that gives us a look at the dreamlike, fantasy realm of Shangri-La, and delves into the game’s co-op multiplayer features.

While players explore the vast nation of Kyrat, they will find pieces of tapestry that, when found, will transport the player to Shangri-La, the mythical, utopian realm of Chinese and Tibetan legend. Taking the place of an ancient warrior, the game’s protagonist Ajay Ghale will relive a legendary tale that is well-known by the people of Kyrat. While in Shangri-La, players will have the help of a formidable ally: a ceremonially armored white tiger that can be used as a distraction or as a weapon.

Whereas Far Cry 3’s cooperative multiplayer was separated from the open-world, single-player experience, Ubisoft Montreal has integrated the two in Far Cry 4. From the single-player game, players can invite friends to join them in their world. Once players are paired up, all the single-player objectives are cleared from the map, leaving all the bell towers, outposts, fortresses and the like available for two-player action. Once the players are split up, the single-player objectives are restored.

PlayStation 4 owners will have the opportunity to experience co-op play even if their friends don’t own Far Cry 4. Each PS4 copy will come with ten trial keys that can be given to friends on the PlayStation Network to enable co-op play for a limited time. Each key will provide up to two hours of gameplay with a friend who doesn't have the game.

Far Cry 4 is set for a November 18 release on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC.
